CLEARWJ'JER <br /> • G R O U P, I N C <br /> 10 <br /> Envrronrnent.l services <br /> QUARTERLY GROUNDWATER MONITORING REPORT <br /> FOURTH QUARTER 1997 <br /> Mel Bokides Petroleum,Inc <br /> 501 West Lodi Avenue <br /> Lodi,California <br /> January 5, 1998 <br /> The Mei Bokides Petroleum (MBP) property is a service station located on the northwestern corner of the <br /> intersection of West Lodi Avenue and South Hutchins Street The surrounding neighborhood consists of both <br /> residential and commercial buildings The FDIC site, located dust south of the MBP property, is currently occupied <br /> by a Togo's Sandwich Shop It was formerly a Texaco service station Groundwater investigation on that property <br /> was recently closed by the responsible regulatory agencies <br /> MBP purchased the subject location early 1985, for the purpose of operating a service station Prior to 1985, the <br /> site had been operated as a service station by various parties Between December 1949 and June 1966 the site was <br /> leased by Tide Water Associated Oil Company (Tide Water) Tide Water's lease interest was assigned to Phillips <br /> Petroleum Company in 1966 The site ownership and leasing history between 1966 and 1985 is not well <br /> established, although Autotronics Systems, Inc is believed to have had operations at the site during the early 1970s <br /> Three grades of unleaded gasoline are currently dispensed at the MBP property The fuel is stored in three 10,000- <br /> gallon underground storage tanks(USTs)located in the north central part of the property (Figure 2) <br /> In July, 1995 Clearwater installed two 4-inch-diameter monitoring wells (BMW-1 and BMW-2) to a depth of 68 feet <br /> below ground surface (bgs) The wells were installed to evaluate soil and groundwater conditions in the vicinity of <br /> existing USTs and fuel dispensers Results of the investigation are presented in Clearwater's Preliminary Site <br /> Assessment Report,dated October 11, 1995 On December 14, 1995 Clearwater gauged and sampled groundwater in <br /> BMW-1 and BMW-2 in conjunction with Geocon who simultaneously gauged and monitored the five monitoring <br /> wells associated with the FDIC site On the same day, the casing elevations of all seven wells were surveyed to the <br /> nearest 0 01 foot by a professional surveyor Measurements were made relative to City of Lodi benchmark#516 and <br /> mean sea level(MSL) <br /> At the request of San Joaquin County Public Health Services/Environmental Health Division, MW-5, previously <br /> associated with the investigation at the Togo's site, has been adopted as an additional data point for the MBP <br /> investigation <br /> GROUNDWATER MONITORING FIELD ACTIVITIES <br /> Date of field activities 10/13/97 <br /> Wells gauged BMW-1,BMW-2,MW-5 <br /> Wells sampled BMW-1,BMW-2,MW-5 <br /> Water analyses All samples total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline(TPHg)and as diesel <br /> (TPHd)(EPA Method 8015),benzene,toluene,ethylbenzene& xylenes <br /> (BTEX)&methyl tert-butyl ether(MTBE) (EPA Method 8020) <br /> Laboratory Entech Analytical Labs, Inc, (Sunnyvale,California) <br /> Remarks none <br /> 520 Third Street,Suite 104 Oakland,California 94607 - Telephone 510-593-5160 •► Far 510-893-5947 <br />
