r _ _ <br /> CLEARWATER <br /> G R O U P, I N C <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> ' This report presents the results of groundwater monitoring conducted by <br /> Clearwater Group, Inc (Clearwater) on behalf of Mel Bokides Petroleum <br /> (MBP) at the property located at 501 West Lodi Avenue in Lodi, California <br /> ' (Figure 1) <br /> ' On December 14, 1995 Clearwater gauged and sampled two monitoring wells <br /> located on the subject property In addition, Clearwater observed <br /> groundwater monitoring activities conducted by Geocon Environmental <br /> ' Consultants, Inc. (Geocon) on behalf of the Federal Deposit Insurance <br /> Corporation (FDIC) at 305 South Hutchins Street Clearwater provided <br /> Geocon with groundwater samples from two MBP monitoring wells (BMW-1 <br /> ' and BMW-2), and received five groundwater samples that Geocon collected <br /> from the monitoring wells associated with the FDIC site (MW-1 through <br /> MW-5) <br /> 2.0 SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> The MBP <br /> property is a service station located on the northwestern corner of <br /> the intersection of West Lodi Avenue and South Hutchins Street The <br /> ' surrounding neighborhood consists of both residential and commercial <br /> buildings The FDIC site, located lust south of the MBP property, is currently <br /> ' occupied by a Togo's Sandwich Shop it was formerly a Texaco service station <br /> MBP purchased the subject location approximately eleven years ago, in early <br /> ' 1985, for the purpose of operating a service station Prior to 1985, the site had <br /> been operated as a service station by various parties Between December 1949 <br /> and June 1966 the site was leased by Tide Water Associated Oil Company <br />' (Tide Water) Tide Water's lease interest was assigned to Phillips Petroleum <br /> Company in 1966. The site ownership and leasing history between 1966 and <br /> 1985 is not well established, although Autotronics Systems, Inc is believed to <br />' have had operations at the site during the early 1970s <br /> Three grades of unleaded gasoline are currently dispensed at the MBP <br /> property The fuel is stored in three 10,000-gallon underground storage tanks <br /> (USTs) located in the north central part of the property (Figure 2) <br /> In July, 1995 Clearwater installed two 4-inch-diameter monitoring wells <br /> a. (BMW-1 and BMW-2) to a depth of 68 feet below ground surface (bgs) The <br /> wells were installed to evaluate soil and groundwater conditions in the <br /> 1 <br /> C-115 4Qtr 95 2/96 1 <br />
