CLEARWATER <br /> G R O U P I N C <br /> 1 <br /> 3.4 Groundwater Sample Analytical Results <br /> TPHg, BTEX, MTBE, and TPHd were detected in concentrations exceeding method <br /> detection limits in water samples collected from both monitoring wells BMW-1 and <br /> ' BMW-2 on July 27, 1995 The highest concentrations of analytes were detected in the <br /> sample from BMW-1 Maximum concentrations of TPHg, benzene, MTBE, and <br /> TPHd were 2,200, 200, 33, and 390 ppb, respectively Dissolved hydrocarbon <br /> concentrations are summarized in Table 2 and are shown on Figure 4 <br /> 3.5 Results of Local Groundwater Data Review <br /> Clearwater conducted telephone conversations with Ms Jean Young of the DTSC <br /> regarding their investigation of groundwater plumes in the Lodi area The DTSC, <br /> lead agency in the investigation, has published three Lodi Groundwater Assessment <br /> Fact Sheets (Fact Sheets) The following summarizes the information obtained <br /> during conversations with DTSC personnel and from review of the DTSC Fact <br /> Sheets <br /> • The DTSC investigation of Lodi groundwater contamination began in 1989 <br /> Methods of investigation are primarily soil gas and hydropunch surveys <br /> • Contaminants being investigated by the DTSC are the volatile organ-.,c <br /> compounds (VOCs) perchloroethylene (PCE), trichloroethene (TCE), and 1,1,1- <br /> trichloroethane (1,1,1-TCA) <br /> + The investigation does not include analysis of fuel hydrocarbons <br /> • Three city wells (CW2, CW3, and CW4) have been found to contain <br /> concentrations of PCE and TCE above the State Maximum Contaminant Levels <br /> (MCLs) and have been taken out of service <br /> • Three primary groundwater plumes (PCE, TCE, and 1,1,1-TCA) and their points <br /> of origin have been identified. <br /> In the Fact Sheets, the DTSC published maps showing the projected locations of <br /> the <br /> contaminant plumes On the basis of their maps, the MBP property and the FDIC <br /> _ site may be on the edge of both the PCE and the TCE plumes, as the plume locations <br /> are currently projected <br /> One of the municipal wells that has been taken out of service, CW-3, is located <br /> north of West Lodi Avenue between South Hutchins Street and South Sacramento <br /> Street, within approximately 1/4 mile of the MBP property <br />' C-115 PRE AR 10/95 6 October 11, 1995 <br />
