Quarterly Monitoring Report - Second Quarter 2001 <br /> ' Mel Bokides Petroleum, Inc. <br /> 501 W. Lodi Avenue, Lodi, California <br /> ' 1.0. INTRODUCTION <br /> ' At the request of Mr. Nicholas Bokides of Mel Bokides Petroleum, Inc., Advanced <br /> GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) has prepared this quarterly monitoring report for 501 W. Lodi <br /> Avenue, Lodi, California (site). The site setting is illustrated on Figure 1. Site structures and <br /> ' monitoring well locations are depicted on Figure 2. <br /> The scope of work was to monitor and sample six ground water monitoring wells on the site, and <br /> ' to sample and monitor the soil vapor extraction system on the site. The objective of the work was <br /> to monitor dissolved petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations in ground water, characterize ground <br /> water flow direction and gradient on the site and to assess the effectiveness of the soil vapor <br /> extraction unit'on the site. <br /> A summary of previous investigations at the site was included in the Work Plan for Site Assessment, <br /> Mel Bokides Petroleum, 501 West Lodi Avenue, Lodi, California, dated 15 May 1998, prepared by <br /> AGE. <br /> 2.0. PROCEDURES <br /> ' Field work was conducted and this report prepared in accordance with guidelines established by the <br /> Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) and directives issued by the <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services - Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) for <br /> subsurface investigations and sampling of ground water monitoring wells at sites with underground <br /> storage tank (UST) system releases. <br /> 2.1. MONITORING WELL PURGE PROCEDURES <br /> On 07.June 2001 the depth to ground water in each monitoring well was measured to the nearest <br /> 0.01-foot utilizing a Solist water level meter. Ground water elevations in BMW-1 through BMW-5 <br />' (site wells) and MW-5 (off-site well) were then calculated by subtracting the measured depth to <br /> ground water from the surveyed casing elevations (Table 1). Ground water elevations were later <br /> plotted and contoured on a scaled site map (Figure 3). <br /> After water levels were measured approximately 37 gallons (a minimum of three casing-water <br />' volumes per well) of water were purged from wells BMW-1 and BMW-2 utilizing a Grundfos <br /> submersible pump and approximately 4 to 10.5 gallons of water were purged from the remaining <br /> wells with a disposal bailers. <br />' An ICM Model 52200 and Hydac water analyzers were utilized to monitor temperature, pH and <br /> Advanced CeoEnvironmental,Inc. <br />
