13 September 2001
• AGE-NC Project No. 98-0450
' • MTBE was detected in two of the six samples at concentrations as high as 330µg11 in sample
MW-5, at the southern edge of the site.
' Based on SVE remediation data collected between April and July 2001, AGE concludes:
' The volume of hydrocarbons extracted by the SVE system was calculated to be
approximately 347 gallons of petroleum hydrocarbons (Appendix C) during the second
quarter 2001 monitoring period.
• Since initiation of the SVE system, the total volume of petroleum hydrocarbons extracted is
estimated to be approximately 2,150 gallons.
' • The average SVE inlet flow rate was 145 cubic feet per minute (cfrn) (Table 5).
• No general concentration trends were evident in the PID field measurements or however,
' analytical results from extracted soil-gas samples have decreased since initiation of the SVE
system.
lie
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based upon data collected from the site, AGE recommends:
• Continue quarterly ground water monitoring and sampling. The next monitoring event should
' be scheduled for September 2001,
• Continue operation and monitoring of the soil vapor extraction and air-sparging systems.
6.0. LINIITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
' environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities. The findings were based upon
analytical results provided by an independent Iaboratory. Evaluations of the geologic/hydrogeologic
conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation are made from a limited number of
available data points.(i e. soil-gas samples and monitoring well.,samples), and the subsurface
conditions may vary away from these data points. No other warranty, expressed or implied, is made
as td the professional recommendations contained in this report.
•
' Advanced GeoEnvironmental,lnc.
