Soil Sampling Report - Chevron Service Station #9-3232, Stockton, CA
April 28, 1999
Stockpile Sampling Associated with UST Removal
On March 11, 1999, GR personnel collected eight discrete disposal characterization samples, labeled
SP4 through SP4, from approximately 200 cubic yards of stockpiled pea gravel backfill initially
excavated from the gasoline UST pit prior to UST removal. Two discrete samples, labeled SP-9 and
SP- 10, were collected from approximately 40 cubic yards of stockpiled soil excavated from the waste
oil UST pit. Four discrete samples, labeled SP-11 through SP-14, were collected from approximately
100 cubic yards of stockpiled pea gravel backfill excavated from the gasoline UST pit following UST
removal.
These samples were analyzed for TPHg, BTEX, MtBE, and oxygenate compounds by EPA method
8260. In addition, samples SP-4 and SP-9 were also analyzed for TPHd, HVOCs, PCBs, and the
metals cadmium, chromium, lead, nickel, and zinc. Sample SP- 10 was also analyzed for TPHd,
HVOCS, SVOCS, O&G, and the metals lead, antimony, arsenic, barium, beryllium, cadmium,
chromium, cobalt, copper; mercury, molybdenum, nickel, selenium, silver, thallium, vanadium, and
zinc.
SOIL DISPOSAL
Based upon the analytical results, and per the approval of Ms. Margaret Lagorio of the SJCEHD,
approximately 300 cubic yards of pea gravel backfill (represented by samples SP- 1 through SP-9 and
SP-11 through SP- 14) were reused as backfill in the former UST excavations. On March 22, 1999,
Allwaste Transportation and Remediation Inc. (Allwaste) of San Martin, California, transported
approximately 40 cubic yards of soil (represented by sample SP- 10) to the BFrs Vasco Road disposal
facility in Livermore, California, for disposal. .
