The purpose of this <br /> work is to identify if past releases on an adjacent property have migrated to and impacted <br /> the soil and/or groundwater beneath the subject site. <br /> Background <br /> Groundwater has been reported to be impacted under large portions of the adjacent <br /> property, located at 16777 Howland Avenue, in Lathrop, California (adjacent property). <br /> This adjacent property is currently occupied by J.R. Simplot Company and formerly <br /> owned by Occidental Petroleum Company, a manufacturer of various fertilizers, <br /> pesticides, herbicides, and/or agricultural fumigants. It has been identified that the <br /> adjacent site is regulated under the Resources, Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), <br /> to perform corrective actions to address past releases at and beneath their property. <br /> Commercial Building Components (CBC), therefore, wants to identify if any of the noted <br /> chemicals, which were released from the adjacent site, have migrated and impacted soil <br /> and/or groundwater beneath the subject site. <br /> Scope of Work <br /> Earth Tech, Inc. will employ WDC Exportation and Wells, a C57-licensed drilling <br /> contractor, to advance up to 7 soil borings at the subject site, utilizing a GeoProbe rig. <br /> The purpose of the borings will be to collect soil and grab-groundwater samples and <br /> submit them for laboratory analyses. It is anticipated that groundwater is approximately <br /> 10 to 15 feet below the ground surface.
