Mr Harlin Knoll
March 27, 2006
Page 2
REPORT OF FINDINGS
On January 26, 2006, Gettler-Ryan Incorporated (G-R) performed 1Q2006 groundwater
monitoring and sampling event at the above referenced site (Attachment A) Monitoring
well samples collected by G-R were analyzed by a suite of analytical methods chosen to
assess the presence of total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg), benzene,
toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX), methyl tertiary butyl ether (MtBE), di-
isopropyl ether, (DIPE), ethyl tert-butyl ether (EtBE), tert-butyl alcohol, (TBA), tert-amyl
methyl ether (TAME), 1,2-dcchloroethane, (1,2-DCA), ethylene bromide (EDB), and
ethanol Whenever possible, detection limits for all analyses, with the exception of TPHg,
ethanol, and TBA, have been 0 5 micrograms per liter (Ng/L) Sporadically the detection
limits were raised due to the presence of elevated concentrations of TPHg Typically
detection limits for TPHg, ethanol, and TBA are 50,ug/L, 50 Ng/L, and 5,ug/L, respectively
G-R's standard operating procedures (SOPs) Indicate that before sampling, each well is
checked for the presence of separate-phase petroleum hydrocarbons If separate-phase
petroleum hydrocarbons are not detected, then the depth to water and the total depth of
each well Is measured and recorded prior to sampling Groundwater elevations are
• calculated using the measured depths Groundwater elevations across the site ranged
from -24 42 to -23 53 feet below mean sea level (msl) Groundwater elevation across the
site Increased an average of 5 86 feet from the previous sampling event Groundwater flow
was calculated to the southeast at an approximate gradient of 0 001 to 0 004 A summary
of TPHg, benzene, MtBE, EDB, 1,2-DCA, and TBA laboratory analytical data are presented
below
ANALYTICAL METHODS
Groundwater samples from MW-1, MW-2, MW-3, MW4, MW-4D, MW-5, MW-5D, MW-6,
MW-6D, and MW-7 were analyzed using the following parameters,
• BTEX, MtBE, DIPE, EtBE, TBA, TAME, Ethanol, 1,2-DCA, and EDB by EPA Method
82606,
• TPHg as TPH-GRO by CA LUFT modified EPA Method 80158
RESULTS
Laboratory analytical results are summarized In Tables 1 through 2 These tables
represent a summary of data tables presented In the G-R report Included as Attachment A
No petroleum hydrocarbon constituents were detailed In the certified laboratory analytical
• reports for groundwater samples collected from monitoring wells MW-1, MW-4, and MW-D
N 1Files\ProjectslChevron\Retaill#9-32321Periodic Monitonng1200611Q0611Q06 QMR doc
