During the course of a Site
visit on April of 2000 conducted by San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division
(SICEM), it was discovered that four dry wells in the evaporation pond were not permitted.
The possibility exists that an unknown substance may have impacted the storm water holding
pond located on the southeastern portion of the subject Property. Based upon this information,
AMES recommends the following_
PROPOSED SCOPE OF WORK
In order to achieve the objectives of this investigation, AIvtES proposes to perform the following
tasks as part of(he Limited Phase It investigation in the area of the storm water holding pond
• AMES will lower one(1) spoon sampler (3V2 ")within the four inch french pipe of each of
the four drywells. The baring will be advanced to a maximum depth of 6-8 inches from the
bottom surface. The laboratory will then be instructed to remove their sample extraction
from the bottom portion of the sampling tube If water is encountered in a dry-well, the water
will be removed using a bailer before the sample is collected.
• The soil sample will be collected using a butterfly vale spoon sampler driven in advance of a
10-pound hand-operated hammer. AMES staff will remove the tube from the sampler for
analysis. The ends of the soil-filled sample tube will be sealed with Teflon-lined caps and
duct taped. The soil sample will be labeled then stored in a chest cooled with ice and
transported to a state-certified analytical laboratory for analysis under chain-of-ustody.
• A state-certified laboratory will be used to perform chemical analyses on the soil sample
collected. The sample will be analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) for
1 of 2
ASSET MANAGEMENT& ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES
62 Avignon euaFoothill
hRanch, 948Fax
9} 586-7315
-mameCeairt web page htio .wm. ahlnK.net/- r-*s
