Project No. JB-20100
4 December 2000
Page 1
1.0 INTRODUCTION
This report presents the results of a geotechnical study performed at the
subject site for the proposed Chevron Station. The proposed project is
located at northwest corner of MacArthur Drive and Valpico Road in Tracy.
California, as shown on the Vicinity Map, Figure 1.
1.1 Purpose
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the soil and geologic
characteristics relevant to the design of the proposed development. General
soil and foundation engineering design and recommendations are provided
based on the physical characteristics of the subsurface materials and the
geotechnical limitations created by the sites surface features.
1.2 Proposed Project Development
We understand the proposed project will consist of constructing a Chevron
Station including a convenience store, a canopy structure, carwash, and
underground fuel storage tanks at the subject site. Maximum structural wall
loads are anticipated to be approximately 2,000 pounds per lineal foot. Site
grading is anticipated to be on the order of plus or minus 2 feet for
preparation of the building and canopy structure pads, site surface drainage,
and parking and drive area improvement.
Please contact our office if the conditions of the project change. We may
need to revise our recommendations if changes occur in the project's
configuration, the type of construction, or the proposed loads.
1.3 Scope of Services
The scope of work for the proposed development included the following:
Reviewing project documents provided by the client,
Exploring the subsurface soil conditions with five exploratory borings,
Sampling and performing laboratory testing of soil obtained from the
test borings,
Analyzing the soil data compiled during the exploration, and
A Reporting our findings and providing recommendations for site
development.
f
Korbmacher Engineering, Inc.
J
