Work Plan for Environmental Investigation May 18 , 1989
Proposed ARCO Station Woodbridge, California AGS 39044-1W
efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the investigation. An
automatic level is used to survey probe-hole locations relative
•% to an arbitrary survey station and other facilities or features
at the site. The probe holes will be backfilled with bentonite
pellets to within a few inches of the ground surface and then
topped off with material similar to the surrrounding surface. -
Information from the vapor survey will be used to help locate
wells that are recommended to evaluate the extent of
contamination. The probe will provide information that will"
allow these wells to be installed at optimal locations for cost-
fr. effective delineation. 7
SOIL BORINGS AND SAMPLING
Soil borings will be drilled using conventional hollow-stem auger
drilling methods. Auger flights and sampling equipment will¢ be
4. steam-cleaned before use to minimize the possibility of
contamination among borings. Drilling will be performed under
the guidance of a field geologist, and the earth materials in the
r borings will be logged as drilled.
