'L
Preliminary Subsurface Investigation Work Plan
Woodbridge Arco- Store No. 5650
18970 Lower Sacramento Road,Woodbridge, California
1.0. INTRODUCTION
At the request of Mr. Lawrence Wight of Wight Enterprises, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
(AGE) has prepared the this Preliminary Subsurface Investigation Work Plan for the property at
18970 Lower,Sacramento Road, Woodbridge, California (the site). The location of the site is
illustrated on Figure 1. A plan of the site is illustrated on Figure 2.
This work plan is prepared as required by the San Joaquin County Public Health Services -
Environmental Health Division(PHS-EHD)for the procurement of a soil boring permit. The work
is being performed to assess for possible environmental concerns associated with'the operation of
an underground storage tank(UST)system on the property. The work plan is prepared in accordance
with Appendix A.to Tri-Regional Recommendations -Reporting, dated 30 August 1991, prepared
by the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (Appendix A - Reports) for the
investigation of underground storage tank (UST) sites.
2.0. BACKGROUND
The site is located at 18970 Lower Sacramento Road in an unincorporated portion of northern San
Joaquin County, California. The site is located in a mixed use area of Woodbridge (Figure 1). The
property is comprised of a single parcel and is currently occupied by an-Arco Mini-Mart gasoline
service station(Figure 2).
Based upon a site reconnaissance of the property, it appears that two monitoring wells and/or soil
vapor wells may be present on the property. Prior to conducting field work, AGE will conduct a
review of PHS-EHD files to determine the nature of the wells.
The estimated depth to ground water at the subject property is approximately 25 feet bsg, based on
the map titled Lines of Equal Depth to Groundwater,Fall 1998 published bythe San Joaquin County
Flood Control District and Water Conservation District (FCD&WCD). It is inferred from the map
titled Lines of Equal Elevation of Groundwater, Fall 1998, also published by the FCD&WCD,that
groundwater elevation at the subject property is approximately 5 feet below mean sea level and that
the local groundwater flow is toward the south at the subject property, but this may be greatly
modified.by local recharge and discharge patterns.The.Mokelumne River is approximately 300 feet
east of the site
3.0. SCOPE OF WORK
AGE proposes to collect soil samples and one groundwater sample if ground water is encountered
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
