(Canonie) at the Southern <br /> Pacific Transportation Co. (Southern Pacific) site in Stockton, California <br /> (Figure 1) . This letter summarizes the underground storage tank removal <br /> activities and associated soil sampling. The work was performed on February <br /> ' 10, 1988, in accord with the July 17, 1987 Engineering agreement between <br /> Canonie and Southern Pacific. As detailed herein, Canonie considers the <br /> tank removal completed. <br /> ' In response to requirements of the California Code of Regulations (CCR) <br /> Title 23 Maters, Chapter 3 Water Resources Control Board, Subchapter 16 <br /> Underground Tank Regulations; Canonie was retained by Southern Pacific to <br /> ' remove the underground storage tanks from many of their California sites. <br /> The activities at Stockton included the removal of two 1,000-gallon gasoline <br /> tanks and associated soil sampling. Tank removal and soil sampling <br /> ' procedures are outlined in Attachment A. <br /> Upon removal , all tanks were manifested and transported by Erickson <br /> ' Trucking, Inc. , as California regulated waste to Erickson Inc's. facility in <br /> Richmond, California for proper disposal . Copies of the certificates of <br /> disposal and the uniform hazardous waste manifests are provided in <br /> Attachment B. The laboratory reports are included in Attachment C. <br /> 1 Tank Removal Activities <br /> ' The location and limits of excavation of the 1,000-gallon gasoline tank at <br /> Heinz Street are shown on Figure 2. Tank removal activities consisted of <br /> the following: <br /> o Removed one 1,000-gallon gasoline tank (Tank 5, Figure 2) . No holes, <br /> or overfilling were noted upon removal . <br />
