�1 Emcon <br /> 1433 North Market Boulevard•Sacramento CA 95834-1943•(916)928-3300•Fax(916)928 3341 -C ' <br /> October 2, 1998 <br /> Project 22605-10103 <br /> Mr Travis Bryant <br /> Interstate Brands Corporations <br /> 12 East Armour Boulevard <br /> Kansas City, Missouri 64111 <br /> Re Third Quarter 1998 Status Report for the Former Dolly Madison Facility, Located <br /> at 1426 South Lincoln Street, Stockton, California <br /> Dear Mr Bryant <br /> At the request of Interstate Brands Corporation (IBC), EMCON has prepared this status <br /> report on the groundwater monitoring work conducted at the subject site (see Figure 1) <br /> during the third quarter 1998 Groundwater monitoring consists of measuring depths to <br /> groundwater and collecting groundwater samples from the wells for subjective and <br /> laboratory analyses EMCON previously conducted an environmental investigation and <br /> currently performs quarterly groundwater monitoring at the subject site <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> The site is located approximately 200 feet south of the intersection of Charter Way and <br /> Lincoln Street in Stockton, California On July 29, 1988, SEMCO of Modesto, <br /> California, observed the removal of a 1,000-gallon underground storage tank (UST) <br /> Based on analytical results of soil samples collected from beneath the former UST, <br /> residual hydrocarbons were present ° Total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHG) <br /> were detected at a concentration of 95 parts per million Benzene, total petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons as diesel, kerosene, and motor oil were below laboratory detection limits <br /> The approximate former UST location relative to site structures is shown on Figure 2 <br /> In the vicinity of the subject property are 5 current or former UST facilities a former <br /> ARCO Service Station, a Chevron Service Station, a Texaco Service Station, The <br /> Transmission Shop, and a former Colombo Bakery Based on data collected from <br /> subsurface investigations performed at the former ARCO Service Station, the Chevron <br /> Station, The Transmission Shop, and the Texaco Service Station (located at the corners of <br /> Charter Way and Lincoln Street), residual and dissolved hydrocarbons have been detected <br /> beneath these facilities, and a commingled plume exists beneath Charter Way and <br /> Lincoln Street The groundwater flow direction near the intersection has generally been <br /> toward the east and northeast The primary hydrocarbon constituent detected in <br /> SAC1A UBCSTDCK QM3-981mtt 1 Emcon <br /> Rev 0, 10/22/98 <br />
