Emcon <br /> 1433 North Market Boulevard•Sacramento CA 95834-1943•(916)928-3300•Fax(916)928-3341 <br /> June 8, 1998 <br /> Project 22605-101 03 <br /> Mr Travis Bryant <br /> Interstate Brands Corporations <br /> 12 East Armour Boulevard <br /> Kansas City, Missouri 64111 <br /> Re First Quarter 1998 Status Report for the Former Dolly Madison Facility, Located at <br /> 1426 South Lincoln Street, Stockton, California <br /> Dear Mr Bryant <br /> At the request of Interstate Brands Corporation, EMCON previously conducted an <br /> environmental investigation and currently performs quarterly groundwater monitoring at the <br /> subject site (see Figure 1) EMCON has prepared this status report on the work conducted <br /> during the first quarter 1998 Groundwater monitoring consists of measuring depths to <br /> groundwater and collecting groundwater samples from the wells for subjective and <br /> laboratory analyses <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> The site is located approximately 200 feet south of the intersection of Charter Way and <br /> Lincoln Street in Stockton, California On July 29, 1988, SEMCO of Modesto, <br /> California, observed the removal of a 1,000-gallon underground storage tank (UST) <br /> Based on analytical results of soil samples collected from beneath the former UST, <br /> residual hydrocarbons were present Total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHG) <br /> were detected at a concentration of 95 parts per million Benzene, total petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons as diesel, kerosene, and motor oil were below laboratory detection limits <br /> The approximate former UST location relative to site structures is shown on Figure 2 <br /> In the vicinity of the subject property is a former ARCO Service Station, a <br /> Chevron Service Station, a Texaco Service Station, The Transmission Shop, and a former <br /> Colombo Bakery, which all have had previously or currently have USTs Based on data <br /> collected from subsurface investigations performed at the former ARCO Service Station, <br /> the Chevron Station, The Transmission Shop, and the Texaco Service Station (located at <br /> the corners of Charter Way and Lincoln Street), residual and dissolved hydrocarbons have <br /> been detected beneath these facilities, and a commingled plume exists beneath <br /> • <br /> SACIN 1PI212605126051010 3AA-981cbell l EfhCon <br /> Rev 0,6/8/98 <br />
