ENVIRON,I NTAL441N <br /> 2460 Countryside Drive Placerville California 95667 - Phone (530)295-1992- Fax (530)642 1760 <br /> February 25, 2000 <br /> Protect No 2002-1426-01 <br /> Mr Travis Bryant <br /> Interstate Brands Corporation <br /> 12 E Armour Blvd <br /> Kansas City, MO 64111 <br /> RE Fourth Quarter 1999 Groundwater Monitoring Report for the Former Dolly <br /> Madison Facility located at 1426 South Lincoln Street, Stockton, California <br /> Dear Mr Bryant <br /> Stratus Environmental, Inc (Stratus), has prepared this fourth quarter 1999 groundwater <br /> monitoring report for Interstate Brands Corporation (IBC) for the former Dolly Madison <br /> facility located at 1426 South Lincoln Street, Stockton, California (Figure 1) This report <br /> presents groundwater elevations measured in the two onsite groundwater monitoring <br /> wells and analytical results of groundwater grab samples It is our understanding that the <br />• site is on a quarterly groundwater monitoring program <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> The site is located approximately 200 feet south of the intersection of Charter Way and <br /> South Lincoln Street in Stockton, California On July 29, 1988, SEMCO of Modesto, <br /> California, observed the removal of a 1,000-gallon underground storage tank (UST) <br /> Based on analytical results of soil samples collected from beneath the former UST, <br /> residual hydrocarbons were present Total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHG) <br /> were detected at a concentration of 95 parts per million Benzene, total petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons as diesel, kerosene, and motor oil were below laboratory detection limits <br /> The approximate former UST location relative to site structures is shown on Figure2 <br /> In February 1997, EMCON drilled three soil borings onsite Soil boring B-1 was <br /> I <br /> converted to vapor extraction well VW-1, and borings B-2 and B-3 were converted to <br /> groundwater monitoring wells MW-1 and MW-2, respectively Based on analytical data <br /> collected from the soil borings, soil beneath the site was impacted by petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons The highest concentration was detected in soil boring B-1, which was <br /> located beneath the former UST Residual petroleum hydrocarbons were not detected in <br /> the vadose zone (0 to 21 5 feet below ground surface), but were detected in the saturated <br /> zone Analytical results of groundwater indicated dissolved hydrocarbons were detected <br /> in monitoring wells MW-1 and MW-2 (EMCON, August 4, 1997) TPHG was detected <br /> in monitoring wells MW-1 and MW-2 at concentrations of 18,000 parts per billion (ppb) <br /> . and 220 ppb, respectively Benzene was detected in monitoring wells MW-1 and MW-2 <br /> at concentrations of 4,400 and 33 ppb, respectively <br /> C \My DocumentsABC15tocktonl4th qtr QMR doe <br />
