The borings were advanced
, 1 using a hand_auger fitted with a 3 inch diameter stainless steel bucket. Soil samples were collected using a
iQ hand held slide hammer connected to a 2 inch diameter sampling spoon. The gasoline plume was initially
defined to the east, then the south, and finally to the north by augering 10 additional borings. The hand auger
., borings are described as B1 2H through B21 H. Soil samples were collected at intervals of approximately 5 feet,
however, not all soil samples were analyzed. Groundwater was collected from inside the annular space of
selected locations and analyzed for TPH-gasoline and volatile components. Also, the domestic well located
120 feet northwest (upgradient) of the gasoline tank emplacement, was sampled and analyzed for TPH-
'r g/BTXE. 7
1.0 TABLE-4
Analytical Results-Soil
43/11/97
(ppm)
CONSTITUENT TPH-D TPH-G BENZENE TOLUENE ETHYLBENZENE XYLENES
SAMPLE I.D.
B-1 21-1-10' NA ND ND NO ND NO
B-13H-10' NA ND ND NO ND NO
n B-14H-10' NA ND ND ND ND NO
v..
B-1 51-1-10' NA ND NO ND ND NO
B-171-1 10' NA 350 5 1.6 3.7 2
B-18H-10' NA NO NO ND ND ND
B-19H-10' NA ND ND NO ND NO
6" B-19H-14' NA 21 0.09 NO 0.3 0.4
6.0 Project: AEC 96C-1703 6
• ENVIRONMENTAL CONCEPTS WITH DEStGN IN MIND'
60 4400 ASHE ROAD.*206 • BAKERSFIELD,CA 93313 8051831-1646 FAX 805/831-1771
