Weber Avenue 1465 S. Lincoln Street
Stockton Stockton
San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division
(PHS/EHD) has reviewed the above files at your request.
Please find enclosed a letter from PHS/EHD to James Giottonini dated June 24,
1994, regarding the Children's Museum of Stockton. The status of the site
remains the same. Further investigation would be required to determine if soil
and groundwater are contaminated in the area of the former underground
storage tank (UST). In addition, the disposition of the UST remains unknown.
Three UST's were removed from the Municipal Service Center in September
1993. No further investigation is required for the 1000 gallon motor oil and
hydraulic oil tanks. The 1000 gallon waste oil tank apparently has piping
beneath a building which has not been sampled beneath so further investigation
is required with respect to that portion of the tank system. Also closure in place
of that piping is required.
Three additional USTs were removed from the Municipal Service Center in April
1995. Enclosed is a letter from PHS/EHD dated August 8, 1995, stating that
further investigation of those UST's is required. This site has been placed on our
contaminated data base and you will be directed to perform further investigation
in the future.
If you have any questions contact me at (209) 468-3449.
Donna Heran, RENS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Margaret Lagorio, Supervising REHS
Site Mitigation Unit
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
