This letter .i.s to .confirm what was discussed. You
indicated that to. allow transporting of the stockpiled soil to
another 'site, composite samples must be collected from the soil
-_ pi-le(s) and-analyzed. for total lead. The objective of the analy-
ses_would be--to determine that -lead concentrations -.do not exceed
-..Total Threshold Limit Concentrations (TTLC) or Soluble Threshold
Limit Concentrations (STLC) for hazardous waste pursuant to Title
22 of the California Code of Regulations. If total lead concen-
`trations exceed. 5 ppm, the samples will be analyzed for soluble
_lead using the Waste Extraction Test methodology. WaterWork
personnel will collect composite samples as soon as possible.
Samples will be submitted to Sequoia =Analytical (DHS Cert. . No. ,
-=:1210) for--analysis.. -After receipt of the analysis results, .prior —
approval to transport.-the soil must be received from SJCPHS.
.You also .stated that- no further sampling of the excavation would
-be required. Because the property owner is anxious to complete
.. -.onsite--activities, -you indicated that the excavation could -be--
backfilled
ould be-=backfilled with clean (imported) material immediately.
Thank you again for your consideration of this matter.
