1.0 SUMMARY
' Del-Tech Geotechnical Support Services (Del-Tech) was contracted in March of 1995 to complete
a preliminary site inspection and evaluation of the property located at 3780 Linne Road, Tracy,
CA. This investigation was initiated due to the request of San Joaquin County Public Health
' Services. The investigation is centered around one previous U.S.T. located on the southern side
of the facility. This report has been generated to document the activities performed on the site
since the tanks were removed on April 01, 1995. The Geological Profiling, Sampling and
Reporting Activities of this project are being completed by Geological Technics Inc.
The property is owned by Jay and Verna Sinclair. They have operated the facility as it exists
to this day as primarily a sole proprietor small business. There are no known U.S.T.'s located
on the property at this time. The project manager for the activities performed was, Mr. Donald
E. Light of Del-Tech Geotechnical Support.
All of the tasks during the drilling of the soil borings and monitoring well installation were
completed and supervised by Geologist, Mr. Tim McDonald of Geological Technics under the
' supervision of Registered Geologist, Dr. Ray Kablanow. Mr. McDonaId monitored the activities
and perform detailed logging of the soils during the soil boring activities.
The site has only one location that is of primary interest at this time. Definition of the plume
in the down gradient direction.
tTo attempt to complete the definition of the lateral extent of the contamination that is present on
the property, four soil borings and three groundwater monitoring wells were installed at strategic
' locations. (see site map Figure 2). Based upon the certified laboratory analytical data sheets,
further delineation through soil borings and or monitoring wells is now required to further assess
the extent of the soil and water contamination plume on the northern side of the site. The
laboratory analysis completed by Sherwood Laboratory (State Certified #1400) indicates that
there is elevated levels of petroleum hydrocarbons in the soil and water along the northern
boundary of this investigation and that the southern area of the property has no levels of
hydrocarbons detected in the samples collected. The amounts of lead detected in the laboratory
analysis are all below the state action level.
A geological report prepared by Geological Technics is included in Appendix 1. The enclosed
site map and analytical data sheets detail the locations of the borings & monitoring wells and
Table 1 summarizes the laboratory analytical data sheets.
The monitoring well elevations were surveyed by registered surveyor Duane Kimball.
