A copy of the permit was included in the Soil Gas_Survey
Report dated January 29, 2007.
2.2 Soil Gas Sampling and Analysis
2.2.1 Sampling Locations and Rationale
.The additional soil gas investigation was an effort to determine the presence sand
concentration of gasoline related constituents in the vapor phase at shallower depths near the
P P
location of SG-1. Three additional soil gas samples (SG-7, -8, -and -9) were collected at,a
depth of 5 feet bgs. The soil!gas survey locations(SG-1 thru SG-9) are shown on Figure 2.
The sample locations were chosen at points,as close as possible.to the shop near the location
4 of SG-1. The first probe location for the additional soil gas survey (SG-7) was advanced
between.the shop building and SG-1. The analytical results from SG-7 indicated that no
benzene was present in the-vapor phase. ' Two additional probes (SG-8 and SG-9) were
` advanced approximately,3 feet north and south of SG-7 and as near the shop building:as
r possible (approximately 30-inches).
2.2.2 - Sample Collection_ Procedures
.The active soil gas investigation. (ASGI) was performed in accordance to the DTSC guidance
document titled Advisory -Active Soil Gas Investigations, dated January 28, 2003.
Field Conditions
• Soil gas sampling was conducted during a period of dry weather.
• The soil was dry and there was 'no moisture noted in .the upper 5-feet of the
subsurface.
