After equilibrium was reached
each sample point was purged as described below.
❑ Second, prior to collecting the sample, I,I-Diflouroethane (1,1-DFA), a tracer, was
+r applied to the ground surface around the drive rod, above the hydrated bentonite, and
around the connection of the tubing to the syringe of each boring.
LO Purge/Sample Flow Rate
The purge and sampling flow rate was between 20 to 200 ml/min. Thus avoiding or reducing
the potential problem of stripping or ambient air dilution from occurring. A new plastic
syringe was used at each borehole.
Sample Tubing
L• The polyethylene tubing was approximately '/8-inch diameter (i.d.) and new tubing was
dedicated to each sample point.
LN 2.2.3 Sample Handling Procedures
a A new syringe and polyethylene tubing were used on each of the soil gas samples collected
during the soil gas investigation. The laboratory technician wore disposable gloves while
'" collecting syringe from the boring. The laboratory technician wore disposable gloves while
analyzing the collected vapor samples. Gloves were changed with each sample collection_
2.2.4 Soil Gas Analytical Procedures
TEG mobile laboratory and direct push service was selected for the soil gas investigation at
LO the Property.
A certified mobile lab mobilized to the Property and performed soil gas analysis for BTEX,
TPHg, and MtBE using a GC/MS by method 8260B.
• The leak-check compound (I,l-DFA) with a detection limit of 10 µg/L was used.
• A probe blank was analyzed for the leak compound and chemicals of concern.
LO • A duplicate sample was run on SG-9.
~ 2.25 Soil Gas Survey Results
LO & All three (3) soil gas samples, all purge volumes, the duplicate, and the probe blank
were non-detect above laboratory reporting limits for the leak check compound,
` benzene, ethyl benzene, o-xylenes, and MtBE.
LW • Each of the SG-7 soil gas samples show the presence of all toluene and m,p-Xylene
constituents. The samples were nom-detect for all other analyzed constituents.
• The SG-8 soil gas sample showed the presence of all toluene, m,p-Xylene, and TPHg
V constituents. The sample was non-detect for all other analyzed constituents.
• SG-9 and SG-9 duplicate soil gas samples show the presence of all toluene, m,p-
Xylene, and TPHg constituents. The samples were non-detect for all other analyzed
constituents.
• Laboratory Data Sheets are included as Appendix A.
