4
4406gkal-r"T SMC. Page 6
Sinclair&Thompson Property
,{ Additional Soil Gas Survey Report
June 18,2007
 • .1. . 3
PHg was detected in SG-8 (7,600 gg/m3), SG-9 (7,600 [.g/m ) and SG-9 duplicate
(8,100 [.g/m3). These levels are 3 times less than the ESLs.
4.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE PROJECT PLAN (QAPP) IMPLEMENTATION
Onerobe blank and one duplicate p p tate sample were collected and analyzed during the soil gas
investigation. The probe blank was collected at the beginning of the investigation and was
non-detect for the leak compound and all chemicals of concern. A duplicate .sample was
collected from SG-9 at 5-feet bgs. The duplicate sample was non-detect for the 'leak
compound and contained approximately the same levels of each of the chemicals of concern.
Laboratory data and quality assurance information are included in Appendix A.
5.0 HEALTH AND SAFETY PLAN (HASP) IMPLEMENTATION
• The area of investigation was in a rural setting
• The public was not allowed within 20 feet of the workspace
All vehicles were off the roadway
 • The workers wore appropriate personal protective equipment
The workers wore disposable_ gloves that were changed regularly between events
6.0 FIELD VARIANCES
All the borings were advanced in locations chosen by GTI and SJCEHD staff and directed by
SJCEHD. The locations were chosen to clearly define the possible threat of vapor intrusion
asimplied by the benzene and TPHg concentrations detected previously in SG-1.
7.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Benzene has the highest vapor pressure of the BTEX constituents and thus is the most
likely constituent to be detected in the vapor phase.
• Benzene was non-detect above reporting limits and ESLs in all sample locations.
• All analyzed constituents, collected from the remaining sample points, were non-detect
and/or significantly below ESLs.
• Quality control sample (Probe Blank) was non-detect above laboratory reporting limits
for all analyzed constituents:
• Quality control sample(SG-1 Duplicate) confirmed the concentrations detected in SG-9
were accurate.
Quality control• compounds (leak check) were non-detect above laboratory reporting
t limits.
