INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of Mr. Franklyn Cole,Advanced GeoEnvironmentai, Inc. (AGE) has prepared the <br /> enclosed Work Plan,for 7505 West Linne Road in Tracy,California(the site). The Work Plan details <br /> procedures for the installation of ground water_monitoring wells at the site. The site setting is <br /> illustrated in Figure 1. Structures, wells and soil boring locations are illustrated in Figure 2. <br /> This plan was prepared to assess the shallow ground water impacted by,methyl tertiary butyl ether <br /> (MTBE)recently discovered in the ground water at the site. <br /> The site history and a description of previous work performed was presented in the.Corrective <br /> Action Plan.A summary of soil remediation at the site were detailed in the Quarterly Report- June <br /> 1998 dated:15 September 1998 and Quarterly Report - December.1998 dated 04 January 1999, <br /> .prepared by AGE. <br /> '2.0. BACKGROUND <br /> 2.1. SITE LOCATION <br /> The site is located at the northwest corner of the intersection of Chrisman Road and Linne Road in <br /> a flat rural/agricultural area southeast of Tracy, California,in-San Joaquin County. Jefferson School <br /> is located across the intersection southeast of the site. <br /> 2.2. UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL <br /> Two 1,500-gallon USTs, piping and dispensers were removed from the property in October 1993. <br /> Soil samples collected from beneath the dispenser at a depth of six feet indicated that total petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline(TPH-g)and volatile aromatics(benzene,toluene,ethyl benzene <br /> and xylenes: BTEX) were detected at concentrations up'to 48,000 mg/kg (parts per million: ppm). <br /> 2.3. SITE-ASSESSMENT. <br /> In August 1994 two borings(borings B 1 and B2)were drilled in the area of the former fuel dispenser <br /> island. TPH-g was detected at concentrations up to 13,000 ppm and.hydro carbons were encountered <br /> to depths of 35 feet below surface grade (bsg). <br />
