INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK
' At the request of Mr. Franklyn Cole,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) has prepared this
Quarterly Report for the property located at 7505 West Linne Road,Tracy,California(the site). This
report summarizes the operation of the remediation unit at the site. The site setting is illustrated on
' Figure I. Structures, borings, and former UST and dispenser locations on the site are illustrated on
Figure 2.
' The report is prepared in accordance with San Joaquin County Public Health Services -
Environmental Health Division (FHS-EHD) and Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control
Board (CVRWQCB) guidelines for the corrective action of unauthorized petroleum release from
' underground storage tanks (USTs).
i
' Background information and a description of prior investigations at the site was included in the Site
Summary.Report - October 1996, dated 22 October 1996, prepared by AGE. Information and a
description of soil vapor extraction(SVE) unit setup was summarized in Quarterly Report-June
1998, dated 15 September 1998, prepared by AGE.
' 2.0. PROCEDURES
Over portions of the third and fourth quarter of 1998 the SVE unit extracted soil gas/vapor,from the
' upper and lower screen interval of well VW-I. Extracted soil gas/vapor was sampled for laboratory
analysis on four occasions to monitor the extraction and destruction process.
2.1. SOIL GASNAPOR EXTRACTION
' The SVE system was monitored weekly and when shut-downs occurred.
' During each monitoring event, the flow rate of extracted soil gas/vapor was measured using a Dwyer
differential pressure flow meter..Vacuum(potential)was measured at wells VW-I and VW-2 using
a differential pressure magnehelic(vacuum)gauge. The organic-vapor concentration in the extracted
. soil gas/vapor vapor stream was measured„before entering the blower (influent stream) and after. .
exiting the burner (effluent stream) using an organic vapor meter(OVM)'equipped with a photo
ionization detector (PID-Thermo Environmental 580A, 10.OeV, calibrated to isobutylene at 100
ppb).
Advanced GcoEnvfronmental,Inc.
