Lodi Avenue, Lodi, CA
N
: .... ._. ..-. .p. ._AP"N- 047_19-1-.03 I
Dear Ms. Meays:
Upon my return this date, after a two week absence, I am.
informed that you called my office stating emphatically to '
my secretary that I was the cause and reason for all of the
delays associated with the -.remediation of the site located
at 216 E. Lodi Avenue, in Lodi, California. Your state-
ments, .apparently, ;were. precipitated by Mr. .Ellis ' letter of '
December 30, 1994, ,wherein he refers to Mr. Giannoni ' s
desire to working with the Department of Health in monitor-
ing and instituting remediation of the contamination-at the
site.
Be advised that I was never informed of this .by Mr. Ellis,
and, in fact,. he had continued to refuse all of my requests_
to enter the property for the purpose of remediation. In
fact, although you• may have received this correspondence
stating his desire -to assist in the remediation, I still do s
not have Mr. Giannoni ' s permission to institute the remedi-
ation• process, but 'only to' monitor the wells on a quarterly
basis. All effort has been made to begin remediation as
.- ------soon as-passible;-but-has-cont-inuall-y-hampered-by-their',
continued refusal.
Nonetheless, I will continue to press Mr. Ellis so that we
can begin remediation, but, in ' the interim, will continue to
monitor the wells on a quarterly basis. .
• - k
Very truly yours, -
MULLEN, SULLIIyV/AN. & .NEWTON C
by
.JAMES, V.
