{' `Alpine Meat,Stockton FALL CREEK
Groundwater Monitoring Report,Q306 through Q207 SO ENGINEERING,INC.
December 2,2007
Well 5 is the background well which may be compared to wells 1, 2 and 3. Well 3 shows
the condition near the wastewater ponds and what might be called the reserve land
application area. This is the 2-acre strip used for land application when the remaining 12
acres are being worked on. Wastewater applied on this strip does not get diluted six
times with well water as does the wastewater applied to the remaining 12 acres. Wells 1
and 2 are down gradient from the 12-acre irrigation area
Well 1 typically contains three times as much sodium and chloride as the background
well. Well 2 typically has approximately the same sodium concentration as the
background well but three times as much chloride. Well 3 is the most variable of the
wells. Typically it contains more sodium and chloride than the background well but
usually not as much as wells 1 and 2. All the wells, including the background well
usually exceed the drinking water standard for nitrate as nitrogen. Usually the down
gradient wells have higher nitrate concentrations than the background well
Please call at(831) 426-9054 with any questions you may have concerning groundwater
monitoring and reporting at this site.
Sincerely yours,
Richard Armstrong, Ph.D., P.E.
Principal Scientist
Cc: Jerry Singer, Alpine Meats, 9900 Upper Sacramento Rd., Stockton, 95210-3995
San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division,
P.O.
