January 3, 1991 BALsopV&CHANG ASSOCIATES
File No. 2037-1
VL CONCLUSIONS
The project site is currently occupied by SOUSA Harvesting. Past property usage
consisting of automotive/agricultural equipment maintenance and an underground fuel
storage tank present a moderate source potential for petroleum hydrocarbon contamination.
The surrounding areas encompassing the site are mainly agricultural lands and commercial
development. These sites present no obvious potential sources for petroleum hydrocarbon
contamination to impact on the subject site.
Results of previous testing for pesticide concentration in soils performed at this site
demonstrate non-hazardous levels of the pesticides DDT, DDE, and DDD. Furthermore,
the results of this petroleum hydrocarbon concentration analysis indicate no substantial
petroleum hydrocarbon concentration in either subsurface soil specimens or groundwater
sample.
Based on this information, we conclude that the probability of undetected high
concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons at this site is very low. It is our opinion that the
i site may be considered as free of petroleum hydrocarbon contamination and should not cause
serious environmental liability.
VII. LRWTATIONS
This report has been prepared for the exclusive use of Mr. Flynn with specific application
i to the project site at 21710 MacArthur Drive in Tracy, California. The use of this report,
its contents, or any part of by party, or its agent, without the written consent from Mr.
Dennis Flynn is herewith disallowed.
The services provided under this contract as described in this report include professional
opinions and judgements based on data collected. These services have been performed
according to generally accepted engineering practices. The opinions and conclusions
contained in this report are based on information obtained from:
Il
1. Four test boring and one monitoring well installed at the site;
2. The observations of our field engineers and geologists; and
3. The results of chemical testing by state approved laboratories.
L
