January 3, 1991 w BAL.,Wt CHANG ASSOCIATES
No No. 20374
The site is listed as APN 213-060-27. The site is roughly rectangular in shape and
measures approximately 220 by 245 feet in plan dimension. The topography of the project
site is relatively flat without significant relief. Surface drainage is directed to the irrigation
ditches on the site. Area surface drainage is generally to the north towards Tom Paine
Slough.
Area land use historically has been agricultural and it was noted that the agricultural
practices included typical herbicide and pesticide usage (U.S.Testing, 6/90). Since 1966,
the site had been occupied by the Pure-Gro Company, an automobile, farm tractor and
application equipment maintenance facility which also stored empty bulk liquid fertilizer
tanks and empty application tanks and equipment.
Several environmental assessments and evaluations regarding those assessments have been
performed on this site and surrounding areas. A 500-gallon underground fuel storage tank
was removed from the site in September, 1988. After Pure-Gro discontinued use of the
property, the site was occupied by SOUSA Harvesting who store and maintain harvesting
equipment in addition to utilizing some hazardous materials (unspecified in the reports
i reviewed) on site.
B.
