San Joaquin Street
P.O.Box 2009
Stockton, California 95201
i
Work Plan
Phase II Field Investigation
Traina Property
Tracy, California
Dear Ms. Lagario:
INTRODUCTION
On behalf of Teichert Aggregates,Harding Lawson Associates(HLA) submits this work plan to drill
and sample two soil borings and collect one surface soil at the property located at 29900
MacAurthur Drive in Tracy,California. The property is referred to as the Traina Property. During
the performance of a Phase I PSA,HLA identified the former.presence of twounderground storage
tanks(USTs) and two above ground storage tanks(ASTs), and agricultural chemical mixing areas
adjacent to concrete "water boxes"at the site. The purpose of the two soil borings and one surface
soil sample is to evaluate if these REC's have impacted site conditions.
SCOPE OF WORK
Task 1-Soil Boring
The scope of work includes the drilling of two soil borings. One boring each wi11 be drilled adjacent
to the former USTs and.ASTs locations. The borings will be drilled to a depth"of 40 feet using
hollow-stem-auger drilling equipment. Soil samples will be collected at 5-foot intervals for
,lithographic description, volatile organic compound (VOC) screening, and potential laboratory
(chemical) analysis. Soils encountered in the borehole will be monitored for the presence of volatile
organic vapors using a photoionization detector(PID). The samples will be collected using a 2.5
inch(inside diameter) Sprague and Henwood (S&H) sampler lined with three clean,6-inch.long brass
tubes. The sampler will be driven with'a 140-pound hammer. The number of blows required to
drive the sampler each six-inch interval will be recorded and used as a qualitative measure of soil
density.
i
i
I
I
Engineering and
Environmental Services 10265 Rockingham Drive,Suite 150,Sacramento,CA 95827 916/364-0793 Fax:(916)364-5633
i
_ I
