The <br /> California Integrated Waste Management Board's(CIWMB), Special Waste Section,has notified <br /> ROSALIE MULL both the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board and Department of Toxic and <br /> RMULE@CIWMRCA.GOV Substances Control the CIWMB will be destroying two monitoring wells. The CIWMB's <br /> (916)341-6016 remediation contract for the Tracy Tire Fire will be expiring soon the remaining funds are will be <br /> used to abandon the well per the CIWMB's access agreement with Teichert. This action is being <br /> initiated at the request of property owner(Teichert). <br /> GARY PETERSEN On September 21,2006,the Site property was sold at a public tax-lien auction. San Joaquin <br /> GPETERSEN@CIWMB.CA.GOV County sponsored the auction due to back taxes owed to the County. As a result of the property <br /> (916)341-6095 <br /> sale,the CIWMB will no longer direct or manage environmental investigation/restoration <br /> activities at the Site. <br /> Monitoring wells MW-8 and MW-9 will be destroyed by LFR in accordance with San Joaquin <br /> County Department of Health Services(SJCDHS)requirements and California Department of <br /> Water Resources (DWR)Well Standards Bulletin 74-90, Part 111, Sections 16 through 19.The <br /> wells will be properly destroyed to eliminate any potential preferential pathway for migration of <br /> surface water into the subsurface through the well or borehole. Prior to scheduling fieldwork, LFR <br /> will obtain applicable permits for each monitoring well from the SJCDHS. LFR will coordinate <br /> �• field activities with the SJCDHS field inspector to ensure adequate notice is provided to allow <br /> """ field inspection of well destruction activities and grouting procedures.
