L <br /> APPENDIX B <br /> r QUALITY ASSURANCE/QUALITY CONTROL PROCEDURES <br /> The procedures and protocol implemented in the field for sample collection are discussed in <br /> Section 5.0 of this workplan. This section presents the quality assurance/quality control <br /> (QA/QC) measures to be taken with regard to the documentation and replication of all data <br /> generated through the implementation of this workplan. The QA/QC is necessary to assure <br /> that the information and data obtained are scientifically sound, defensible, and are of known, <br /> documented quality. <br /> B.1 Sample Custody <br /> fThe primary objective of sample custody procedures is to create an accurate written record <br /> �+ that can be used to trace the possession and handling of all samples from the moment of their <br /> collection through analysis and final disposition.
