L <br /> * Date and Time of sample collection <br /> LField personnel will complete the label using water-resistant ink. <br /> Field Custody Procedures <br /> The Project Manager (PM) has overall responsibility for the care and custody of the samples <br /> ( collected until transfer/dispatch to the laboratory. However, each individual that collects a <br /> L! sample is responsible for sample custody until he/she transfers the sample to someone else <br /> via the COC. Additionally, the field personnel are responsible for recording shipment <br /> information in the. field activity log at the end of each collection period. <br /> Transfer/Transport of Sample Custody <br /> inr will be sealed with Teflon® <br /> Immcliately after sample collcction, each soil sample conta e <br /> sheets and plastic end caps and placed into individually sealed plastic bags. Each ground <br /> water sample vial for BTEX analysis will be placed in re-sealable plastic bags. Field staff <br /> r will then place the sample into an insulated cooler for transfer or shipment to the laboratory. <br /> Sample bottles for transport will be packed in foam to minimize the possibility of breakage. <br /> I <br /> L.i <br /> i <br /> Field staff will complete a COC for each sample or group of samples transferred.or shipped, <br /> which will accompany the samples inside the cooler to the laboratory. The custody form will <br /> be sealed inside a resealable plastic bag to protect it against moisture. <br /> I <br /> Each cooler will contain sufficient amounts of crushed or dry ice to ensure that the samples <br /> Lremain at a proper temperature (approximately 4 Celsius) during transfer or shipment. <br /> Cooler shipment will be by overnight courier, according to current US DOT regulations and <br /> laboratory requirements. <br /> 809-001.wkp/03-06-97/u/keydata/workplan B-3 <br /> L TermNext <br />
