Nov-02-99 02:09P COPPEF.L._EN-rERPRI5E5 1 209 727 9773 P_02
I k
k
4
Aeration Plan
500 Gallon Gasoline UST
Former Lockeford Winery
Lockeford, California II
1
1.0 Background
On August 20, 1999 a 500 gallon underground storage tank was removed and
transported off-site for disposal. The UST was a single wall steel tank and
formerly contained gasoline. The UST was last used in the late 1980'$. After
.removal, a backhoe was used to collect a soil sample at a depth of two feet
below the invert of the UST (approximately 8 feet below ground surface). A four-
in-one composite sample was also collected from the soil stockpile. The sample
taken from below the UST contained 690 ppm TPH gasoline. Please see
Sample Result Summary.
The planned future activities at the site include over-excavation of the UST
excavation to remove any remaining contaminated soil from the excavation. The
excavated soil will be placed in a temporary soil stockpile.
2.0 Aeration Pad
The proposed aeration pad will be the existing concrete slab located adjacent to
the north side of the UST excavation. The slab is of sufficient size to
accommodate the contaminated soil from the UST excavation. Prior to
placement of soil on the slab, any debris will be removed from the slab and the
concrete will be swept clean.
The soil will then be removed from the soil stockpile and spread out on the
concrete slab. The soil will be placed at a maximum depth of one (1) foot.
1 of 2
