Main St. <br /> ' Manteca, CA <br /> Protect No 662 2 <br /> September 3, 1998 <br /> 1.0 Purpose and Scope of Work <br /> On behalf of Cardoza Enterprises, Geological Technics Inc performed Soil and Groundwater <br /> ' Investigation work on the property located at 290 N Main St , Manteca, California <br /> The purpose of this work was to determine if the low concentration of chemicals found in <br /> previous soil investigation was part of a larger contaminant plume are dust an isolated <br /> situation This was accomplished by drilling two GeoProbe bonnghole and collecting/testing <br /> soil and groundwater samples under the fill ends of three existing underground gasoline <br /> storage tanks <br /> ' Previous testing found Toluene, Xylene and MTBE in one soil sample collected at 17 feet <br /> Results of Underground Storage Tank Assessment, April 6, 1998, Herschy Environmental <br /> ' The scope of work was as follows <br /> 1 Drill a total of two GeoProbe boreholes at the north end of the UST cluster <br /> ' 2 Test soil samples from each borehole for BTEX, TPH-Gasoline, MTBE, DIPE, ETBE, <br /> TAME, TBA, Methanol, and Ethanol <br /> 3 Collect one groundwater sample from each borehole with a hydropunch type groundwater <br /> ' sampler and test these samples for BTEX, TPH-Gasoline, MTBE, DIPE, ETBE, TAME, <br /> TBA, Methanol, and Ethanol <br /> 4 Prepare a summary report of the field work, lab test results, and conclusions as to the <br /> extent of contamination <br /> 2.0 Borehole Installation <br /> On August 19, 1998 V&W Drilling (C57# 720904) mobilized to the site to install the <br /> boreholes with a direct-push GeoProbe rig Geological Technics Inc personnel were on site <br /> to log the boreholes and collect the soil samples The GeoProbe boreholes were 1 25 inches <br /> to diameter and were placed as follows <br /> GP-1 was placed at the northern end of the western UST <br /> GP-2 was placed at the northern end of the eastern UST <br />
