Main St. <br /> Manteca, CA <br /> Project No 662 2 <br /> June 17, 1998 <br /> ' 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> In March of 1998 a total of six angle boreholes were hand augured beneath the three existing <br /> ' 8,000 gallon USTs, one beneath each end Slight amounts of MTBE, Toluene, and Xylene <br /> were detected in the soil sample from B-1 <br /> On April 29 and May 26, 1998 Cardoza Enterprises was directed by San Joaquin County <br /> ' Environmental Health Department to submit a work plan to determine if residual soil or <br /> groundwater contamination exists beneath the tanks <br /> Geological Technics Inc was contracted by Mr Cardoza to perform the soil and groundwater <br /> investigation described in this work plan <br /> 2 0 PROPOSED INVESTIGATION <br /> To further investigate the possibility of soil and groundwater impacted with gasoline range <br />! ' petroleum hydrocarbons, Geological Technics Inc proposes to install two GeoProbe <br /> boreholes, collect soil and groundwater samples, and test these samples for petroleum <br /> hydrocarbon compounds <br /> i <br /> 2.1 GeoProbe/Hydropunch Survey <br /> Soil Core Sampling <br /> Two GeoProbe boreholes will be drilled at the north end of the UST Cluster Soil samples <br /> 1 will be collected at five-foot intervals down to the capillary fringe The expected depth to <br /> groundwater is approximately 20 feet below ground surface (bgs) Upon reaching the <br /> ' capillary fringe a hydropunch type sampling tool will be advanced 3 feet into the <br /> groundwater and a groundwater sample will be collected <br /> i <br />� 1 <br /> i <br />
