Main St.
Manteca, CA
Project No 662 2
June 17, 1998
' 1.0 INTRODUCTION
In March of 1998 a total of six angle boreholes were hand augured beneath the three existing
' 8,000 gallon USTs, one beneath each end Slight amounts of MTBE, Toluene, and Xylene
were detected in the soil sample from B-1
On April 29 and May 26, 1998 Cardoza Enterprises was directed by San Joaquin County
' Environmental Health Department to submit a work plan to determine if residual soil or
groundwater contamination exists beneath the tanks
Geological Technics Inc was contracted by Mr Cardoza to perform the soil and groundwater
investigation described in this work plan
2 0 PROPOSED INVESTIGATION
To further investigate the possibility of soil and groundwater impacted with gasoline range
! ' petroleum hydrocarbons, Geological Technics Inc proposes to install two GeoProbe
boreholes, collect soil and groundwater samples, and test these samples for petroleum
hydrocarbon compounds
i
2.1 GeoProbe/Hydropunch Survey
Soil Core Sampling
Two GeoProbe boreholes will be drilled at the north end of the UST Cluster Soil samples
1 will be collected at five-foot intervals down to the capillary fringe The expected depth to
groundwater is approximately 20 feet below ground surface (bgs) Upon reaching the
' capillary fringe a hydropunch type sampling tool will be advanced 3 feet into the
groundwater and a groundwater sample will be collected
i
 1
i
