Main St
Manteca, CA
' Project No 662 2
February 20, 2004
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
' This report summarizes the site er
k wor
investigation formed at the Su
g P per Stop Market on
May 30, 2002, and December I - 12, 2003 A continuously cored, single boring was
' installed on May 30, 2002 in accordance with San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department directives A discretely screened deep monitoring well, MW-104, was installed
' in the boring (see Figure 2) Laboratory analyses of groundwater samples from this well
indicated that it contained the oxygenated fuel compound MTBE (2 8 — 66 ug/1) for all six
sampling events completed to date This indicates that the contamination has migrated to
' the depth of the screened interval of this well 48 —53 feet below grade surface
On December 1 — 4, 2003 Gregg Drilling & Testing Inc (Gregg) of Martinez, California
' mobilized to the site to perform cone penetrometer testing (CPT) The CPT testing began
with a single deep boring CPT-4 to a depth of 80 feet bgs in the vicinity of existing deep
well MW-104 The purpose of this boring was to determine the lithology lower than the
' terminal depth of the MW-104 boring (55 feet bgs) because the SJC/EHD stated that the
vertical extent of the plume was undefined in that location After this borehole was
completed, the rig was moved several feet and a new hole was advanced for the purpose of
' obtaining discrete water and soil samples Seven additional CPT borings were advanced in
1 a similar fashion Soil samples obtained from the boreholes reveal that the soil
1
