Geological Tecluttcsl Page 4
' Groundwater Monitoring Report
Project No 662 2
January 25,2006
As required under AB2886, the groundwater elevation & laboratory data were submitted
electronically to GeoTracker on January 24, 2006 (confirmation # 4963560342 &
' 1582968473)
2,0 FINDINGS AND DISCUSSION
The results of the groundwater sample analyses indicate the following
' Shallow Aquifer
' • Well MW-1 contained the gasoline oxygenate MTBE at 1770 µg/1 This well has
consistently contained MTBE The well also contained 82 5 ug/1 TPH-G This is the
fourth consecutive event in which TPH-G was detected in the well above the laboratory
' reporting limit
• Well MW-2, which is upgradient of the former USTs, has not contained contaminant
concentrations above the laboratory detection limits for all quarterly events completed
' thus far in the investigation
• Well MW-3 contained the gasoline oxygenate MTBE at 2310 µg/1 and 50 8 ug/l TPH-G
Extraction well EW-2 contained 932 µg/l MTBE The well had contained TPH-G for the
three previous events, but not this time
Deep Aquifer
' • Well MW-5 contained 1 1 µg/1 MTBE
• Well MW-6 contained 86 µg/i TPH-G
• Well MW-104 contained 8 µg/1 MTBE
' The distribution ofg roundwater contaminants is summarized as follows
' (Note The Isoconcentration contours are generated utilizing the SURFER® computer
modeling program We recognize that computer generated contour maps do not provide the
' most accurate representation of what is taking place to the field However, even hand-
contoured maps at best provide a shadow of reality Both need to be looked at as
interpretation, not reality)
' • Figure 4 Shallow Well MTBE Concentrations shows that the highest level of MTBE
(2310 ug/1) is present in well MW-3 The plume is limited in lateral extent and attenuates
to the north, northwest and southeast locations of well MW-1, MW-2 and EW-2,
respectively
• Figure 5 Shallow Well TPH-G Concentrations shows that the highest level of TPH-G
(82 5 ug/1) is present in well MW-1 The plume is limited in lateral extent and it
attenuates to the west and south locations of well MW-2 and MW-3
