' Geological Tecluucs lac.
Groundwater Monitoring Report Page 4
Project No.662.2
March 24,2005
With additional analyses for new wells MW-5, MW-6 and EW-2:
Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as Diesel (TPH-D) by EPA method 8015(M)
L * Oxygenated Fuel Compounds DIPE ETBE
P &TAME by EPA method 8260
EDB by EPA method 8260
L • Methanol by EPA method 8015(M)
Lead by method 6010B
The detection limits for the above analyses are listed in Table 3 of Appendix-A while the lab
analytical results are presented in Appendix B.
As required under AB2886, the groundwater elevation & laboratory data were submitted
electronically to GeoTracker on March 22, 2005 (confirmation # 1347357332 &
9752029240).
2.0 FINDINGS AND DISCUSSION
In accordance with SJC/EHD's January 31, 2005 facsimile correspondence, the
groundwater analytical protocol was modified for this event.-
Existing
vent:Existing wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-3, MW-104 and EW-1 were analyzed far TPH-G, BTEX,
MTBE, TBA Ethanol and 1,2 DCA. For the remaining three quarters of 2005 these wells will
be sampled for TPH-G, BTEX and MTBE only. The.TBA Ethanol and 1,2 DCA constituents
will continue to be analyzed on an annual basis in the first quarter.
New wells MW-5, MW-6 and EW-2 were analyzed for TPH-G, TPH-D, BTEX, MTBE,
ETBE, DIPS, TAME, TBA; Methanol, Ethanol, EDB, Lead and 1,2 DCA. This protocol will
be repeated for the 2nd quarter 2005 and then theirrotocols will match those above. Any
Y
constituent detected above the laboratory reporting limit will be maintained in the quarterly
j analytical scheme.
The results of the groundwater sample analyses indicate the following:
Li
Shallow Aquifer
• Well MW-1 contained the gasoline oxygenate MTBE at 460 lAg/l. This is consistent with
past results. The well also contained 270 ug/1 TPH-G and 0.8 ug/1 benzene. This is the
Ll first time in the investigation that these constituents were detected above the laboratory
reporting limits. f
• Well MW-2, which is upgradient of the former USTs, has not contained contaminant
Ll _ concentrations above the laboratory detection limits for all quarterly events completed
thus far in the investigation.
< < z
