AH 15
Ms. Margaret Lagorio, RENS IN4 i- ilxTH
Senior.Environmental Health Specialist Pf6vITf`E Ci S
San Joaquin County Public-Health Services ERV
Environmental Health Division
P.O. Box 2009
Stockton, California 95201
Re: Groundwater'Gradient,'-Diami5nd Lumber Retail Facility, Lodi, California
Dear Ms. Lagorio:
Pursuant to our telephone codversation (January 9'.1993)regarding the above referenced topic, please
find an amended copy of page 5. Please insert this page into your copy of the Diamond Lumber-Lodi
Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report, October 1992. A copy of this amended page was FAXed
toyourattention on January 8, 1993. Also er closed are copies of the hand calculations and cross-
sections used in determining the groundwater gradient at the Lodi facility. It should be noted that the
groundwater gradient is extremely flat (the difference: in static groundwater elevations between .the
highest and lowest point, 140 feet laterally, is approximately 0.15 feet). Our original presumption,
(based-on regional topographic 'and hydrologic characteristics and information obtained from local .
government agencies), indicated That the natural--groundwater gradient was toward the Mokulumne
River located north of.the subject property. This-asstimption-is not qualified by our calculations, which
indicate a very slight soutlierly gradient.
z
As always, your comments ate, welcomed. Please, do not hesitate to contact us if you have any '
questions or require additional'information.
With regards;
STEFFEN ROBERTSON AND KIRSTEN (U.SJ INC.
Rob Gwilym,.C.P.G:
Principal, Senior Environmierital Geoscientist
David P.
