Based
on the decrease of influent concentrations observed, the cessation of operation of the
vapor extraction system and the performance of confirmation sampling was proposed.
PHS/EHD agrees that confirmation sampling is necessary to evaluate the effectiveness of
the remediation of soil contamination.
The Work Plan proposed one soil boring to be located in the area of the former
underground storage tank excavation. Soil samples are proposed to be collected and
analyzed every five feet until groundwater is encountered, approximately 45 feet.
Additional confirmation soil sampling may be necessary to verify that the full extent of
soil contamination has been remediated.
In order to determine the groundwater gradient and to continue investigation of
groundwater contamination, the installation of two additional monitoring wells was
proposed. PHS/EHD agrees that a minimum of two additional monitoring wells are
necessary to obtain data for groundwater gradient determination. Once gradient has
been determined, it may be necessary to install an additional well in a down gradient
location.
A Division of San Joaquin C xinty health rare Stmccs
