Ms. Mary Meays
Quarterly Summary Report
December 1, 1992
Page 3
(sample I.D.'s S-1, S-2, and S-3). The samples were submitted to GTEL, composited into one
sample (sample I.D. S-1,2,3) and then analyzed for TPHg and BTEX. Laboratory analysis of the
composite sample revealed no detectable concentrations of TPHg or BTEX. Copies of the
laboratory reports for both soil samples are attached.
On the basis of the analytical results described above, SEACOR requests permission to dispose the
soil cuttings by spreading the soil onto the ground in the vicinity of the treatment compound.
Work Plan Preparation
Based on discussions during our November 10, 1992 meeting at your office, SEACOR has been
authorized to prepare a Work Plan for installing two additional groundwater monitoring wells at the
site. The purpose of these monitoring wells is to confirm the direction of groundwater flow and
evaluate groundwater quality downgradient of the former UST. The Work Plan will also include a
description of approach and methodology for the confirmatory soil boring to be drilled in the source
area. To minimize mobilization costs to our client, SEACOR proposes to install the additional
monitoring wells and confirmatory soil boring at the same time.
Please feel free to contact me at (415) 882-1548 if you have any questions or comments regarding
this letter.
Sincerely yours,
Science & Engineering Analysis Corporation
Bruce E. Scarbrough, R.G. #4931
Principal Geologist
NOV.QSR
50014-001-05 MKOI
