(Thorpe) uncovered and removed one 350 <br /> gallon capacity carbon steel underground storage tank (tank ID #39-1977-01). <br /> a Tank removal soil samples were collected by GeoAnalytical personnel from <br /> beneath the tank (TK-1 at 8 feet) and from the north side wall at 7.5 feet. <br /> The tank was purged and triple rinsed of all remaining petroleum product which <br /> was containerized, manifested (Manifest #88112969-EPA site #CAC000836312), <br /> and properly disposed of-at- Refineries Service. in Patterson, California. The <br /> inerted tank was transported to and received on March 20, 1993 by Schnitzer Steel <br /> Products of Rancho Cordova, California. <br /> The two soil samples were received by GeoAnalytical Laboratories of Modesto <br /> and tested for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, total xylenes, total petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons as gasoline, total lead and ethylene dibromide. . Sample results <br /> Lindicated that significant concentrations of gasoline range petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons were detected in the .north side wall sample collected at 7.5 feet <br /> below ground surface. These sample data were submitted-to the San Joaquin <br /> County Public Health Services (SJCPHS). <br /> On March 24, 1,993 Ms. Donna Heran of the SJCPHS in correspondence <br /> recognized that the test data showed that further investigation may be required <br /> before site closure. <br />
