Problem Assessment Report December S, 1989
f USA Petroleum Slation No. 65, Lodi, California AGS 87050-3
t
i
isomers (BTEX) using EPA Method 602. Copies of the laboratory analyses were not
included in the March 16, 1987 report; only a table of the laboratory results was included.
j The table is in Appendix A of this Problem Assessment Report.
The soil and water samples were received by the laboratory on March 9, 1987. Chemical
{ results of soil samples ('fable 1) analyzed fromwells S-1 and S-2 indicate THC
concentrations of 230 parts per million (ppm) and 38 ppm, respectively, at 39 feet below
]
grade. Chemical results on a duplicate sample from the same depth in boring S-2 showed
47 ppm of THC. The duplicate sample was analyzed for quality assurance purposes. o
: Chemical results on a soil sample analyzed from boring S-A.indicated THC concentrations
of 7 ppm at 20 feet below grade. In boring S-B, THC concentrations were below the limits
for the tests used at 10 feet below grade. BTEX analyses were not performed on the soil f
L
samples.
` In addition, a soil sample was collected from under the fill box. The till box Iocation is not
defined in the March 16, 1987, report. Laboratory analyses of the soil sample indicate
4,700.ppm of THC as gasoline:
r i
Water samples from wells S-1 and S-2 were tested for BTEX constituents only. Chemical
results of the water samples collected from '}ted$ I,, ttgX
4t° 2.4 ppm. 0.34 ppm, and 0.17 ppm, respectively.
