The report covers the installation of soil boring B-3 on April 8, 2010, which
was required by the EHD to investigate the lateral extent of the dissolved petroleum
hydrocarbons detected during the investigation conducted on March 25, 2009.
A grab groundwater sample was collected from the shallow groundwater at approximately
42 feet below ground surface. The sample was analyzed for the petroleum constituents of
concern noted in AGE's March 26, 2010, Additional Site Assessment Work Plan —
Addendum, approved by the EHD by correspondence dated March 29, 2010.
No constituents of concern (CDCs) were detected in the sample and AGE requested site
closure. Before the EHD can evaluate the site for closure, a No Further Action Request
Report (NFAR) must be submitted to the EHD for review. Please include a soil vapor
intrusion evaluation in the NFAR and if there are any residual contaminants, also include a
comparison of the COCs concentrations to the San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality
Control Board (SFBRWQCB), Environmental Screening Levels (ESL). The NFAR is to
include the minimum requirements noted in section 6.6 of the Tri-Regional Board Staff
Recommendations for Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation of Underground Storage
Tank Sites, Appendix A - 16 April 2004, and is to be submitted to GeoTracker for EHD
review by July 7, 2010.
Questions regarding this letter should be directed to Michael Infurna,
minfurna(o)sicehd.com orby phoning (209) 468-3454.
Michael J.
