Smith Technaho_v SITE SAFETY PLAN
FACILITY BACKGROUND
In September 1987, one 1,000-gallon unleaded gasoline underground storage tank (UST),
two 3,000-gallon unleaded gasoline USTs, one 7,000-gallon leaded gasoline UST, and all
associated piping and dispensing equipment were removed and transported off-site.
Laboratory ai,alysis of soil samples collected from beneath one of the former 3,000-gallon
USTs location indicated the presence of detectable concentrations total petroleum
hydrocarbons. After the tanks were removed, the areas of the former tanks were backfilled.
WORKPLAN I
Task One:
Supervise the installation of at least three soil borings to depths of approximately 60
feet. Two soil samples and one groundwater sample will be collected from each
boring from areas which exhibit physical indications of contamination. Samples will
be analyzed for BTEX (EPA Method 8020), TPHg and TPHd (EPA Method 8015
Modified), oxygenate fuel additives (EPA Method 8260), and total lead.
F
PAGE
