The following is a summary of the analytical results
obtained.
Sample ID Benzene Toluene Xylene TPH-Gas
#1@15' <0.01 <O.ol <0.01 <1.0
#2@20' 0.0732 15.493 121.428 2,040.0
#3@14' <0.01 <0.01 <0.01 <1.0
Note: All results in ppm(mg/kg)
PNS/EHD did not receive results for TPH-diesel or lead which were requested at the time of tank
removal. Analysis for these constituents will be required for any subsequent investigation.
The seasonal high depth to groundwater in the area of the site is 70 feet below ground surface
(SJC Flood Control Map 1986); therefore, it may not be necessary to perform a groundwater
investigation. It should be noted that there is a nearby domestic well which should be sampled
for petroleum hydrocarbons.
Additional soil investigation will be necessary to determine the vertical and horizontal extent of
the contamination. Please submit a work plan to initiate the investigation by June 23, 1997.
Once you have received at least three bids from geological consultants to prepare the required
work plan, please submit the bids to the State Water Resources Control Board Clean-up Fund for
pre-approval.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at (209) 468-0337.
Donna Heran, Director, REHS
Environmental Health Division
Mary Meays, Senior RENS MargaeLago
io, REHS
Site Mitigation Unit Supervisor
MM/2541 1 LONE TREE RD
cc: Elizabeth Thayer, Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
