Lv
T
L..
A S S O C I A T E S I N C
Summary Report of
Subsurface Investigation
i~.. Rossetti Market
25411 Lone Tree Road
V Escalon, California
+- ATC Project No. 14980.0001
1.0 INTRODUCTION
ATC Associates Inc. has prepared this letter report, on behalf of Ms. Lida Rossetti to summarize
findings of the subsurface investigation performed at the above referenced site (Figure 1). The
L purpose of the subsurface investigation was to determine the extent of residually petroleum
hydrocarbon impacted soil. This work was done at the request of San Joaquin County Public
Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD). The findings of the subsurface
investigative study are summarized in the following paragraphs.
1.1 Site Location
The site is located on the north side of Lone Tree Road and the west side of Escalon-Bellota
Road in Escalon, California, as shown on Figure 1. The location is a commercial and agricultural
.. area and the site is currently occupied by Rossetti's Market.
1.2 Background
L
In September 1987, one 1,000-gallon unleaded gasoline underground storage tank (UST), two
3,000-gallon unleaded gasoline USTs, one 7,000-gallon leaded gasoline UST, and all associated
L piping and dispensing equipment were removed and transported off-site. Laboratory analysis of
soil samples collected from beneath one of the former 3,000-gallon USTs location indicated the
L presence of detectable concentrations total petroleum hydrocarbons. After the tanks were
removed, the areas of the former tanks were backfilled.
IL 2.0 METHODS AND PROCEDURES
F To investigate the extent of residually petroleum hydrocarbon impacted soil at the site, a total of
five soil borings were advanced in the vicinities of the former USTs and the fuel dispenser. All
field activities were performed in accordance with ATC's Workplan for Subsurface Investigation
at 25411 Lone Tree Road, Escalon, California, dated November 10, 1997, and modifications to
t`.. the workplan made in the field with the approval of Ms. Margaret Lagorio of PHS/EHD. The
3
workplan was approved by PHS/EHD with minor modifications.
w:1t4980Veportslsum.doc 1
I
