The soil sample collected
from boring SB3 at a depth of 25 feet bgs contained no detectable concentrations of petroleum
hydrocarbons. Analytical results of soil samples are summarized in Table 1. Laboratory data
sheets and chain-of-custody documentation are presented in Appendix B. I
5.0 RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the analytical results and field observations, the soil in the vicinity of the former USTs
and fuel dispenser is impacted:by very low concentrations of TPHg and BTEX. The lateral extent
of impacted soil is limited to less than 10 feet in the north and east directions and less than 15 feet
to the south. The impacted soil appears to attenuate rapidly with depth as indicated by the
decreasing TPHg and BTEX concentrations in boring SB3 from the 15 foot bgs soil sample to the
25 foot bgs soil sample, which was nondetect.
It is the judgment of ATC that additional investigation activities are not warranted. After
PHS/EHD approves this recommendation, a formal request for site closure will be submitted.
i
' C
i
n
w:\14980Vrprts\suTn.doc 3
