Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report <br /> Conti Trucking, Inc. <br /> 2660 Loomis Road, Stockton, California <br /> 1.0. INTRODUCTION <br /> In accordance with the request of Mr. Gene Conti Jr. of Conti Trucking Advanced <br /> GeoEnvironn7ental, Inc. (AGE) has prepared this Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report <br /> (PIER) for 2660 Loomis Road (the site), Stockton, California. The scope of work included <br /> advancement of three soil probe borings and collection and analysis of soil samples. The location <br /> _ of the site and its surroundings are illustrated on Figure 1; major features on the site and soil probe <br /> boring locations are illustrated on Figure 2. <br /> _ This investigation was performed in accordance with guidelines of the San Joaquin County Public <br /> Health Services - Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) and of the Central Valley Regional <br /> Water Quality Control Board for the investigation of underground storage tank (LIST) sites. <br /> 2.0. 13ACKGROUND <br /> In September 1999, two USTs were removed from the site by Elite Four General Contractors. Based <br /> on field observations and analytical results of soil samples collected during the tank removals. the <br /> PHS-EHD directed that a subsurface investigation be performed at the site to delineate the vertical <br /> and horizontal extent of petroleum hydrocarbon impacted soil. In accordance with PHS-EHD <br /> directives, procedures for a subsurface investigation were presented in the AGE-prepared Site <br /> Investi,alion Work Plan, dated 27 December 1999 and approved by the PHS-EHD by letter dated <br /> 05 January 2000. <br /> 2.1. SITE LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION <br /> The site is located in an unincorporated commercial area of southern Stockton at the end of Loomis <br /> Road. (Figure 1). The site is presently occupied by Conti Trucking, Inc. The major portion of the site <br /> consists of unpaved dirt area used as a parking lot for trucks (Figure 2). A single story office facility <br /> and truck garage is presently located on the site. A domestic drinking water well is located <br /> approximately 150 feet northeast of the former UST area. <br /> 2.2. UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL <br /> On 22 September 1999, two 10,000-gallon diesel USTs, were removed from the site by Elite Four <br /> General Contractors. The approximate locations of the former USTs are shown on Figure 2. The two <br /> — USTs were located at the west end of the site. The excavation was not backfilled to surface grade <br /> and it is still open at the time of preparation of this report. <br /> Advanced GcoEmironiental,Inc. <br />
